Well what can I say, I been in the wholesale mortgage industry for 10 years and Provident continues to amaze me of the horrible, arrogant, unfriendly service they provide in the industry. As an originator we deal with several A clients and our clients our looking for the best rates.
Provident does have the best rates, but they make you go through misery to get it. A loan was denied because a borrower paid his company vehicle through his online account. PF adamantly asked for a copy of the cancelled check which there was none. Online statements show the transfer.
They wouldn't take them. Not to mention we are all now doing banking online. In another instance the borrower went on vacation for 10 days and was in the midst of a refinance, the loan was cancelled by the wholesale branch. In speaking with the someone in the branch they chastized the borrower and myself for submitting/applying for a loan when the borrower was going on a planned vacation.(we were unaware of the borrowers planned vacation) Lastly, the COMPANY statement states you can lock a refi in 60 days, this is a lie, all refi's are max 45 day rate lock and subject to worse case pricing if you don't close within the timeframe.
As you get close to the 45 day rate lock expiration they purposely ignore the file so you need to do a rate extension all at the cost to the borrower. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, BAD BUSINESS..
STAY AWAY. Regulators need to AUDIT THEIR PRACTICES!!!!!!
